City of Glass (Mortal Instruments)
This one is kind of the final in what I like to think of as the original trilogy. It is great! I couldn't put it down. Dark, funny and does not skirt around issues that YAs deal with.
The paranormal world is big and the kids deal with real race, sexuality and diversity issues. It's not too teen-angsty (although there is a heathy dose of that too).
My main problem is that I already know that I will fnish the first 5 books very soon and will then be waiting around for the next one. I would highly recommend the series.
